Common Guava, also known as Yellow or Lemon Guava, is an heirloom fruit tree that grows into a lush evergreen shrub. This exotic plant is prized for its sweet, delicious fruit, which is perfect for eating fresh, juicing, or using in desserts. Guava trees are not only valued for their tasty fruit but also for their ornamental beauty, adding a tropical flair to any garden. With proper care, guava trees can provide bountiful harvests of nutritious fruits and will grow 3-18 feet tall depending on pruning. Guava is a self pollinating fruit tree, so only one is needed, but having a second tree to cross-pollinate can increase yields.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Pour boiling water over seeds, then let stand in water for 24 hours. No stratification is needed. After the water treatment, sow seeds in full sun, 1/8" deep and tamp the soil down. Mulch the seed bed to help retain moisture.
