Hosta, also known as Plantain Lily, is a beloved perennial that adds a touch of elegance to shade gardens. This shade-loving plant is known for its beautiful foliage, which comes in a variety of colors, including blue, green, yellow, and variegated. The 'Blue' variety features striking blue-green leaves that create a stunning contrast against the backdrop of a shaded area with each plant spanning 2 foot tall/wide. Hostas are also known for their attractive flowers, which bloom in shades of white, lavender, and purple. Hosta ventricosa is a natural tetraploid that undergoes "pseudogamous apomixis", meaning it breeds true and is of no use as a seed parent in creating hybrids.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Hostas are easy to grow and thrive in partial-shade to full shade. They prefer moist, well-drained soil, but can also tolerate some drought. Plant them in groups of three or more for a more impactful display, 24" apart on the soil surface and lightly dust with soil. Keep moist and in sun until germination. SEEDS CAN TAKE 30-60 DAYS TO GERMINATE. Divide clumps every 3-4 years to keep them looking their best.
