Description:
Blooming profusely in late spring and early summer, Cerastium Biebersteinii (Snow-In-Summer) is a low-growing, deer restistant perennial that forms a dense mat of silvery-gray foliage dotted with star-line, pristine white flowers with notched petals. Evergreen, it spreads quickly by reseeding itself and makes a great ground cover for sunny areas. Snow-in-Summer is an herbaceous flowering plant and a member of the carnation family.

Planting Instructions:
Snow-in-Summer is easy to grow and in general just needs plenty of light and a little warmth. Sow outside at the start of spring before the last frost or towards the end of autumn when the temperatures are around 70°. Lightly press seed into soil and either leave uncovered or lightly dust with a fine soil or starter mix. Keep moist. Indoors, germination generally takes 2 weeks in 65-75° conditions. Provide ample light and keep moist. After 6-8 weeks, transplant after the last frost in the spring or in the autumn. Plants will self-seed if spent blooms are not removed. Best to shear off flower stems after bloom to prevent self-seeding, reduce future foliage decline. Divide every year to maintain compact size.
