Garbanzo beans, also known as chickpeas, are a versatile and nutritious legume that has been cultivated for centuries. This heirloom variety, growing to about 1-2 feet tall, produces pods filled with nutty, flavorful beans that are a staple in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Whether enjoyed in hummus, falafel, salads, sprouts or stews, garbanzo beans are a delicious and healthy addition to your diet.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Direct sow seeds outdoors after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up. Plant seeds 1 inch deep and 2-3 inches apart in rows spaced about 18-24 inches apart. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during germination and pod development. Garbanzo beans are relatively drought-tolerant once established and can be harvested in about 90-100 days.
