Canterbury bells (Campanula medium), also known as cups and saucers, have bell-shaped blooms are indicative of flowers belonging to the bellflower family, Campanulaceae. Native to Southern Europe, Canterbury bells thrive in temperate regions. As a biennial, they produce a small mound of rosettes and foliage in their first year before producing flowers in their second year. Their life cycle is complete at the end of the growing season of their second year. Their stunning bloom time lasts from early summer to autumn. They make great additions to cottage gardens or cut flower arrangements. In addition to being absolutely stunning, they are amazing at attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.

Planting Instructions:
Sow 3-4 seeds per plant indoors 6-10 weeks before your region's last frost date. Press the seeds into the soil but do not cover them. The flower seeds germinate within 30 days. Transplant the seedlings outdoors in rich, well-drained soil that has plenty of compost or sphagnum peat moss worked in after gradually exposing them to the outdoor elements. The Campanula plants need a site in full sun to light shade. Canterbury Bells care includes fertilizing every other month during the growing season for best height and heaviest bloom. Cut Canterbury Bells back after flowering. Keep the spent flowers deadheaded to prolong the bloom time.
