Description:
These lovely flowers will fill the air with a heavenly scent. The exotic lacy blooms range from pink to white and blooms in early spring of the second season. Very easy to grow and very fancy to see. Greek botanist Theophrastus gave these flowers the genus name Dianthus which means "divine flower". The color name "pink" was brought about by this plant which comes from the work "pynken" in Old English which means "to cut or notch" and was a reference to its distinctive jagged edges of the petals.

Planting Instructions:
Direct sow the seeds after the last frost of spring, planting it just below the surface and compact the soil down slightly. To start the seeds indoors, sow them 6-8 weeks before the last frost of spring sowing just below the surface in flats and compress the soil. Keep the temperature at 60° until germination which should take place within 3 weeks. Thin or transplant the seedlings. Water seedlings until they become established. Once matured, they will be quite drought tolerant and will only need to be watered during exceptionally dry periods.
