Mexican Hat, also known as Prairie Coneflower, is a charming wildflower that adds a touch of whimsy and color to any landscape. Growing 1-3 feet tall, this drought-tolerant perennial is a favorite of pollinators, attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects with its unique, cone-shaped flower heads and drooping red, yellow, or bi-colored petals. Its adaptability to various soil types and its low-maintenance nature make it a perfect choice for meadows, prairies, and wildflower gardens.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Direct sow seeds outdoors in the fall or early spring. Lightly press seeds into the soil surface, as they need light to germinate. Keep the soil moist but not soggy and provide them with plenty of sunlight. Thin seedlings to 12-18 inches apart once they have a few sets of true leaves. Mexican Hat prefers well-draining soil and is drought-tolerant once established.
