Nasturtium 'Alaska Mix' is a vibrant and versatile heirloom variety, known for its beautiful, variegated foliage and cheerful blooms in shades of yellow, orange, and red. These low-growing plants, reaching about 12 inches in height, are perfect for adding a touch of color to borders, containers, or hanging baskets. But the beauty of Nasturtiums goes beyond just looks – both the flowers and leaves are edible, with a peppery flavor that adds a delightful kick to salads, sandwiches, and even desserts!
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Direct sow seeds outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep and 6-8 inches apart in full sun to partial shade. Nasturtiums prefer well-draining soil and moderate watering. They are relatively drought-tolerant once established. You can expect to see blooms in about 50-60 days. Be sure to soak your Nasturtium seeds overnight (about 12 hours) to help seedlings break through the tough outer shell.
